Our After-School Program Themes
Fun is totally a SCIENCE worth exploring! Kids learn about the animal kingdom, both on land and under the sea. They understand robotics and explore the science of motion and energy. Cool take home activities help them explain their newfound knowledge to others.
We are CRAZY for science! In this 6 week program, we will explore a different topic each week. How does light or sound travel? How do things get invented? How do my senses help me make sense of the world? :D
Physics is the study of everything and how it moves! In this 6 week session we do 5 different physics topics and 1 week of chemistry. Bernoulli's principle, forces of motion, air pressure...Play that funky science, RIIIIGHT!
"Dynamic" means constantly changing--like the world. A different topic each week--meteorology, geology, entomology, criminology...totally packed full of science!
Secret Agent Lab
4 weeks of all out forensics! This is science that is used practically and everyday. Sometimes that doesn't seem so groundbreaking and WOW, but it is. DNA evidence is used daily to help identify people. Chemistry is used to help figure out what something used at the scene of the crime is made of. Biology helps us figure out "whodunit?" 2 weeks of spywork as well--codes and gadgets!
Welcome to the world of chemistry! Children make gooey slime, experiment with different reactions and learn to use the tools that chemists use. Polymers and catalysts are only two of the fascinating concepts young scientists explore in this thrilling trip through the chemistry lab!
NASA Academy of Future Space Explorers
NASA and Mad Science collaborate to educate the next generation! Children go on a voyage of discovery with unique hands-on activities, and amazing demonstrations that explore the sun and stars, space technology, rocket science, the atmosphere, planets and moons, and more!
Using LEGO® bricks, kids build a different engineering-themed project in each class. They explore different engineering fields including mechanical, structural, aerospace, nautical, and bioengineering. They use critical thinking and creative problem-solving to test and improve their creations.
Coding is all around us in the 21st century. With our coding program, kids will practice writing code and then immediately see the results. The instructor takes the kids through simple coding procedures, then through loops, patterns, abstractions, etc. Mission: Code is taught by the Mad Science instructor in the school computer lab.
