Underground Explorers
We are SO digging archaeology! Come join us as we hunt for bones--dinosaurs, other mammals, and even humans. Piece together clues that scientists uncover to help us discover what happened in the past. Trade routes, fossils, artifacts, mummified remains, etc. Make and take home your own artifacts daily.

Rockin' Rockets & Radical Robots
Integrate all the STEM areas in this camp. We calculate altitude, engineer the rocket & robot we make, use technology to program, and apply the underlying principles of science. Build a solar powered robot and a model rocket to take home.

Crazy Chemworks
When you hear Mad Science, what do you think of? CHEMISTRY!!! Take a chemical journey with us as we go through lab tools, sit down at the periodic table, go up and down the pH scale, and play with polymers (SLIME). Take homes will help you build your own lab!

NASA: Academy of Future Space Explorers
Mad Science got together with NASA and a very kid-friendly journey through space happened. Why are planets special? Why is Earth the only planet where humans can live? What else is in space? What is it like for astronauts on the ISS? Answer all these questions while being hands on AND build and launch a rocket!

Eureka: The Inventor's Camp
Necessity is the mother of invention, it's said. This camp is SO much better--the child invents! Each day we explore a different area of invention--planes, the interaction of science fiction and invention, electricity, and survival. Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration and we will totally be working hands on in this camp!

FAQ
Can I sign my child up for more than one camp?
Yes, in fact, we encourage it. Each program is completely different, so your child can enjoy them all without repeating activities!
+Who are the Mad Science camp instructors?
Mad Science instructors tend to be college students pursing an education or science degree, former/retired teachers, or teachers on summer break. All of our instructors have experience working with large groups of elementary-aged children and have undergone an extensive background check.
+What is the child to instructor ratio?
The child to instructor ratio varies depending on enrollment. We always have at least one instructor for every 12-15 students. If the camp goes larger, we will send another instructor.
+Does Mad Science camp include snacks?
We do not include snacks for many reasons. There are so many food allergies to account for, it is nearly impossible to stay ahead of the preferences of the children, etc. We will take a break during the 3 hour session where the child can eat a snack brought from home.
+Are different aged children in the same camp?
Yes. Sometimes, this can mean that there are 5 year olds and 12 year olds in the same camp. The Mad Scientists are quite good at "reading the room" to see what the dynamic is. Some of the older childern like helping the younger children. They are free to choose their own groups when we break into group work.
